In a Summer State of Mind: Our Favorite Looks for Summer
Posted on 05 June 2018
The sun is getting hotter, the days are getting looonger, and we are here to obsess over your gorgeous looks! Summer nails are easily identified by bright pops of color, but you can also rock some subtler pastels, diverse whites, and fruity blends. Basically, have fun, get cRaZy, and try something new because that’s what the sunny season is for! Below is a collection of nail looks that we will be trying this summer, so our nails are as glamorous as our tea is sweet.
This Coral and Gold-Flake blend is Summer Goals! The bright polish pops with bronze tanned skin, and the flecks of gold match the warm sun rays. It makes me want to lay out, sip on a Mai Tai and catch some z’s. I would end up a lobster...but a girl can dream! I will forever be jealous of those with melanin.
To get a similar look, you can try our Special Nail Art Polish: Coral and our Gold Pigment Powder (for fuller gold coverage). If you want to create a longer lasting finish, you can turn our polish into a gel by using the Transform Gel Top Coat.
Yaaaaaaaas, move over Elizabeth, there's a new Queen in town! (Just kidding; you're timeless; long live the Queen; we love you; do you have any more attractive, eligible bachelors in your family? Asking for a friend.) You’re going to need some shades for these bad boys! They glow like the sun so try not to look directly at them for too long. You can just kick back on that cupcake pool floatie and pose with these IG worthy claws. This Chartreuse is definitely eye-catching, then toned down a bit with a classic matte top coat and glammed up again with that rhinestone accent nail. Anyone who is bold enough to rock these babies deserves to be bowed down to. We're not worthy!
Four words: GLOW-IN-THE-DARK! There is so much going on here, I can barely handle my excitement! It’s like a rave for your fingers, or a hot and sweaty night dancing at a club in Havana—ooh na-na. There are some ombré techniques used here, as well as some hand painted geometric and chevron lines. If you don’t have a steady hand, you can use our vinyls to get the same look. If you prefer the hand painted look and need some brushes, look here.
These nautical vibes make me want to go sailing! I like this look for it’s cool blue tones. You don’t have to wear neons to represent the hottest season of the year. This mani looks like it was accomplished with Stamping Plates and an ombré /gradient technique to get those different blue hues. Seal with a top coat and then meet us at the lake!
There you see her, sitting there across the way. She don’t got a lot to say, but there’s something about her. And you don’t know why, but you’re dying to try. You wanna kiss the girl. <3 You know you sang that in your head, and you know you want to try these nails. The girl rocking these nails dreams of the ocean late at night and longs for the wild, salt air. Those glamorous accent nails look like that mermaid found some sunken treasure and wasn’t afraid to show it off! I. Am. In. LOVE.
I am blown away by these nails. They look simple enough, but if you've ever tried a marbled look, you know they can be difficult to master! I love this shade of deeper/hot pink and the baby blues and whites marbled in to look like clouds! It's like a pink sunset set as a backdrop for the dramatic shadowed palm trees. Let's go for a walk on the boardwalk and bask in the beauty of that sky!
This manicure has everything you could ever want to accessorize for a Hawaiian vacation. There are glitter and metallic elements, cool, stark tones with black and white designs, soft pinks, and bright detailed flowers. I’m getting strong Luau vibes! Grass skirts, hearty coconut meat, salty sweet breezes, and amazing cultural dances. Can we all agree that I deserve to go? Let’s start a petition for my boyfriend to take me. Maybe I can request @lieve91 to recreate this look for me, because all those details look hand painted! If you want to attempt this majesty, you could try a stamping plate for the precise base design, and probably find a water decal for the flowers. Just make sure that your base coat (detail work) is completely dry or use a cured gel top coat before applying the water decal so you don’t risk smudging the base design.
Alright friends! I could go on and on about all the nail designs I love--I literally do it for a living. But we must continue this at another time, because I need to go to the beach now, or I might die!
